Welcome to my recovery log number 3.

Little news~ I had a small car accident about a week and a half ago and my problems with my lower back are back. There goes the getting back to exercise routine. I asked if I can keep continuing yoga, but I was told that the soft tissue in my lower back is swollen so I should avoid any exercise for the time being. I hate that...but I keep reminding myself, that health comes first. I am getting MRI taken tomorrow and at least I will know what's gone wrong down there.

I am also down with cold, because the weather in Korea decided to act as back home in Europe (almost freezing in the morning and bright warm noons) I have failed in choosing proper clothes for my work. My sinuses are reminding me of it every time I lay down or bend over. Update, whatever was blocking my sinuses just moved down to my chest and I can barely speak without coughing as 90 years old smoker.

So yeah, I think for the time being I am down to walking for a bit in goose feather jacket (in November!?) zipped up to my chin.

I won't go for the morning fasting walks because my body is not ok right now to "run on empty". I will keep concentrating on getting my diet straight and share how I eat.

In the oriental medicine hospital where I am getting acupuncture for my lower back, the lady is very nice. She keeps giving me advises that have nothing to do with lower back pain. Yesterday she saw that I was having a cold and she told me not to eat any flour based meals for the time being. I guess because bread and noodles are basically empty calories and I'd give my body unnecessary distraction from fighting the virus.

I am getting restless. I want to start moving and get rid of the fat I've gained. My body-image sensitive me is nagging harder and harder every day. I hope the ED is still buried deep enough not to join in on this matter....

Knowledge of knowing how to get tight and light in matter of few weeks is priceless. But I really want to try it "humane" way this time. Not just go heavy on weights. I want to try to go lean with Pilates or yoga. I know it is gonna take longer time so I was expecting to start right after I get a green light from the hospital. Yet here I am :( Waiting on yellow because of old lower back issue ( damn you competitive gymnastics... ) and bad flu.

My breakfast was a persimmon with a cup of warm soy milk. I have neither energy nor appetite to do better right now. It did bring the balanced carbs, fat and protein combo which is something I always think about when choosing what I eat.

Stay warm!

You sincere,

Lenka Kim
